In this course, students will learn from a mixture of weekly video lessons, practical worksheets with exercises and assignments, and step-by-step instructions to make the publishing process understandable and possible.

 

Self-Publish a Children's Book  - for Teens: Recommended for grades 8-12

Teacher: Trudie Schar

Class Description: Learn to brainstorm, plan, write, edit, format, design, and self-publish your own children’s picture book. 

Class Layout: A one-hour, weekly lesson and approximately an additional 1-2 hours a week of out-of-classroom time to write/layout/publish the book.

 

Supplies Students Will Need:

  • an Amazon.com account (if the student is under 18, they will need a parent's ID verification and the parent's name on the financial account),
  • access to a laptop or iPad for typing and formatting the book,
  • have permission to use Canva.com (pro account is best)
  • approximately $10- $15 to purchase a copy of their book.
